Just when you thought you'd never hear flamenco versions of "Hotel California" or "My Way," the Gipsy Kings came to the rescue.

Founded in France, of all places, in 1979, the band has reflected an array of influences over the years, from Middle Eastern and South American sounds to rock and progressive-leaning takes on traditional flamenco.

The group has released more than a dozen albums, including last year's critically acclaimed "Roots."
