Bangkok's 7th International Festival of Dance and Music has, once again, a great deal to offer

Not too many years back, there were very few options here for the culturally inclined, apart from the traditional Thai arts. Then, seven years ago, along came the International Festival of Dance and Music to inject a healthy dose of opera, ballet, jazz, Western orchestral music and other things cultural into the Bangkok scene.

The festival, now in its seventh year, is again set to satisfy even the most discerning of audiences. Scheduled to run from September 7 to October 9, it promises a real smorgasbord of events, leading off as usual with operas and ballets, followed by symphony orchestras, jazz, contemporary dance and more.
