Claremont musician Michael Ryan presents 'Gypsy Passion' at the Candlelight Pavilion

There's something about flamenco music that gets into Michael Ryan's soul. Perhaps it's the passion, emotion, fire.

"It's one of my favorite types of music," the Claremont virtuoso said. "I'm a classically trained guitar player, so it always fascinates me the (interaction) between the ensemble."

Ryan and his group of musician friends present "Gypsy Passion," a night of nuevo flamenco at the Candlelight Pavilion in Claremont on Wednesday night. The two-hour program will feature special guest Ron Powell, a renowned percussionist who has played with Kenny G, Madonna and Diana Ross.
