KOCHI: Enrique Keller, a well-known Spanish firm making flamenco guitars, is to open a production unit shortly in this Kerala city.

The firm is to open its unit at the Kochi Special Economic Zone (SEZ). According to C.J. Mathew, SEZ development commissioner, the Spanish firm has been given the required letter of permission.

"We have allotted 5,000 square feet of space to them in SEZ. We believe this unit would be the assembly unit. They are likely to set up a unit outside the SEZ where the wood for the guitar would be made ready and then brought for assembly here. The strings for the guitar would be brought from Spain," Mathew said.
