Imagine being in a foreign courtroom, where accusations, confessions and accounts of horrible misfortune are unfolding all around you.

Everyone has something to say, from the accusers and accused to their families and neighbors, and of course the lawyers, whose mastery of physical expression can convince you of most anything.

You can understand a few words here and there, but mostly you're relying on people's demeanors and tone of voice, the way they hold their bodies, how they react to each other.

That's what it felt like watching Soledad Barrio & Noche Flamenca, the closing act of the 6-1/2 week American Dance Festival.
