The slowly melting gray snow of February can be a little depressing. Lift your spirits with an exciting evening of live flamenco and jazz with The William Leggott Jazz Trio Saturday, Feb. 24 at the Vernon Jazz Club.

The William Leggott Jazz Trio promises a smooth jazz infused blend of flamenco and standards with an enticing mix of hot Latin and salsa, and romantic bossa nova.

The Leggott Trio’s repertoire is wide-ranging. They perform selections from the great jazz trumpeter Miles Davis, bossa nova composer Carlos Jobim, jazz guitarist George Benson, and that soulful rhythm and blues artist Ray Charles. They also play some original material.

Musicians William Leggott (guitars), Bob Gronowski (bass/vocals), and Danny Sameshima (drums) formed The William Leggott Trio five years ago.

“Why jazz?” says Sameshima. “As a musician and jazz fan I can appreciate the time, dedication, and musicianship put into the craft.”
