Drama camp for young actors

Venture into the world of theater at summer drama camp, held July 12 to 23 at the Civic Arts Education Shadelands campus. Second through fifth graders will play games, learn to improvise and perform in a play. Beginning actors will have the opportunity to participate in low-stress rehearsals and perform. The camp will be held from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, with a performance July 22 at the Shadelands Campus. No auditions are necessary. The fee is $104 for 10 classes. Walk-in registration is available at the Shadelands campus, 111 Wiget Lane, Walnut Creek, or by calling 925-943-5842 to register.

Fiesta, flamenco, Spanish dancing

A new fusion of flamenco and fiesta-style salsa dancing classes will be offered by Civic Arts Education on Tuesdays, from 4 to 5 p.m., from June 22 through Aug. 10. No previous dance experience is needed and the class is open to people ages 12 through adult.
