Flamenco festivals are the centrepiece of the summer event programmes in Spanish cities

As the good weather arrives, there is an abundance of festivals around the Spanish territory, and if flamenco already has a prominent role in this country overall, in the summer it becomes the undisputed protagonist among the cultural events that are on offer. The festival season has already started, and there are several interesting events over the next few days: the Festival de Música y Danza in Granada, the Alhaurín de la Torre (Málaga) festival, Flamenco Pa' Tos in Madrid and the Porrina de Badajoz festival are those that are scheduled for this week, but there will still be lots of flamenco left for the rest of the summer.
