Westchester Arts & Entertainment NewsPurchase, NY - Nuevo Ballet Español, the young and vibrant company that has emerged at the forefront of emerging trends in Spanish dance, presents its critically acclaimed flamenco show at The Performing Arts Center, Purchase College, on Friday, Feb. 3rd at 8 p.m.

Tickets to the show are $40.

As a bonus, Carol Walker, Director of the Purchase College Conservatory of Dance, will present a free Prelude Lecture at 7 p.m. to give patrons special insight into the evening’s performance.

Nuevo Ballet Español infuses traditional flamenco dance and music with contemporary movement and influences -- without betraying its traditions.

Based in Madrid, the company was founded in 1995 by Carlos Rodriguez and Angel Rojas. The pair has been dancing in professional companies since they were teenagers, receiving world acclaim for their exceptional technique and contrasting styles. In 1994, they jointly won first prize in the Spanish Annual Dance and Flamenco Choreography Awards competition.
