It's early December in the Moroccan capital of Rabat, and the entire audience of the vast Mohamed V theatre is on its feet in united, epic applause. They've just been treated to an evening of 24-carat flamenco, courtesy of Spain's pre-eminent dance company, Ballet Nacional de España. And, quite simply, they can't contain themselves any longer.

Nor can you blame them. Tradition has it that the essential inspiration of any flamenco dancer is a duende, or demon, and Ballet Nacional's performers seem positively possessed.
