(noticia) Ballet Folklorico combines cultures, dances

February 24, 2006 — Charro Days is about celebrating friendship and culture. Ballet Folklorico Hispano-American takes that idea and infuses it into a colorful and spirited display of dance.

After being silent for the past five years, Brownsville’s Bellas Artes Academy of Dance has reemerges during the Charro Days celebration to reintroduce the community to a blend of folklorico dances from all over the world.

The malambo of the Argentine Gaucho, the Spanish Gypsy flamenco and the Cuban mambo will drive the show through its mixed cultural theme.
