(noticia) (noticia) Spanish Flamenco guitar to be made in Kerala

London: The flamenco guitar, a prominent symbol of Spanish culture, is acquiring an Indian tone, as the hand-made folk instrument is all set to be bulk produced at Kochi in Kerala state.

Enrique Keller, one of Spain's famous producers of flamenco guitar, which gets 70 percent of its business from exports, is all set to open a plant in Kochi in May and will begin production of flamenco and classical guitars later this year.

Reports say that faced with rivals whose costs are much lower, the Spanish company - which takes its name from its German founder - has lost 25 percent of its market share recently.

Keller is being forced to move from its factory in the Basque Country in northern Spain because of competition from China and South Korea.
