There comes a time -- often sooner than we expect -- when parents wind up being inspired by their kids rather than inspiring to their kids. And when your Newmarket teenager cracks the international Top 60 flamenco playlist, it's a downright kick in the ass.
I was both surprised and somewhat dazzled recently by a creative outburst from my oldest son Shane Kerr, after he stayed up for 30 hours straight to record seven songs and then weave them all into a CD. What's even more remarkable is that the songs are inventive, eminently listenable, and probably sprinkled with genius. But who am I to say?
