NEW YORK, NY -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 02/21/07 -- The seventh annual "Flamenco Festival New York 2007" showcases two of Andalucia's extraordinary performing arts festivals, both of which are biennial (every two years).

This Saturday, February 24, at NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts, "Malaga en Flamenco" previews its second biennial festival to be held August 27 to September 23, 2007. Twenty-five artists from Malaga, including evocative singer Rocio Bazan, will thrill a New York audience with their regional flamenco art forms including festive "verdiales" (colorful folkloric groups from the verdial olive-growing countryside), spirited "malagueñas" and "fandangos," and Malaga-inspired works by legendary composers Isaac Albeniz and Ramon Montoya.
