La Chunga exhibits her paintings at the Corral de la Morería

The flamenco dancer Micaela Flores Amaya, also known as La Chunga, famous for dancing barefoot with passion and fire, retired from dancing years ago. Now, nearly 70, she returns to a tablao, el Corral de La Morería, to present her other artistic talent, her painting. The exhibition will be open from the 21st of March to the 20th of April.

La Chunga is the most famous and original rumba flamenco dancer of all times . In 1956 Pastora Imperio recommmended that D. Manuel del Rey take her on as a dancer for the Corral de la Morería. There Ava Gadner, saw her dance and she was so impressed she offered her a part in Hollywood.
