Minneapolis Guitar Quartet with dancer/choreographer Colette Illarde

MINNEAPOLIS – The Minneapolis Guitar Quartet will deliver a virtuosic, one-of-a-kind concert featuring an exciting collaboration with Flamenco dancer Colette Illarde this weekend, March 30, 31 at 8:00 p.m. at The Southern Theater, 1420 Washington Ave. S., Minneapolis.

With passion, style, and musical sophistication borrowed from the best chamber music and string quartet traditions, the MGQ has emerged as one of the world's leading guitar ensembles. The program includes a new production of Six Pieces on Spanish Folksongs by the Spanish composer Enrique Granados, with music arranged by the Minneapolis Guitar Quartet and choreography by Ms. Illarde (highlighting both Spanish classical and Flamenco dance styles). Also featured on the bill are works by J.S. Bach, Jeff Lambert, Daniel Bernard Roumain and Argentine composers Astor Piazzolla and Alberto Ginastera.
