Flamenco dance -- Ongoing: Learn flamenco, the dance of Spain's gypsies, with instructor Phoebe "La Fibi" Vernier at Footloose Dance Center, 5320 Old Redwood Highway. “La Fibi” is one of San Francisco’s premier flamenco dancers. She has been studying, teaching, and performing flamenco for 23 years. She was born in Hollywood to Actor/Dancer parents and was raised in New York City, Hollywood, San Francisco, and Virginia. La Fibi grew up on the road with her mother, a professional Middle Eastern dancer, and was surrounded by the world of show business and live Arabic music from the earliest age, performing on stage at the age of four.
