This spring, Downtown is gearing up for its fair share of new musical works as well as old favorites. In the former category, the Los Angeles Master Chorale debuts its fire-themed evening of music and flamenco dancing, fittingly dubbed "Ignite."

However, some of the hottest tickets in town are revivals of popular works. The Los Angeles Opera brings Romanian-born soprano Angela Gheorghiu back to the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion stage, and the Los Angeles Philharmonic revisits its Tristan Project throughout the month of April. A full line-up of the season's musical events appears on page 22.

Whether world debut or second pass through, one thing is certain: Downtown is tuned in for spring.
