Spanish dance is nothing if not flamboyant. Swirling skirts, stamping heels, haughty dancers and guitarists whose fingers appear to have run away with themselves — this is music that gets into your bloodstream, dancing that makes you want to get up and join them.
Cape Town is lucky enough to have its own professional Spanish dancing company, the La Rosa Spanish Dance Theatre, so castanets are no stranger to local stages. The company's latest show — hard on the heels of the brilliant and complex 'Blood Wedding' — is 'Flamenco Puro', at that long-lived nightspot, Obz Cafe.
